From June 28th 2026 on Mike’s brand new record “The journey…. so far” will be available on the website of Charly Records!

A reflective return and a statement of intent, ‘Broken Rainbows’ sees Mike D’Abo revisit and reimagine a song first recorded for his 1974 A&M album. Newly reworked both musically and lyrically, the track emerges with renewed depth – its soulful delivery underscoring a message of resilience and hard-won optimism.

On the B-side, Mike D’Abo strips things back to piano for an intimate, impassioned take on his enduring composition ‘Handbags & Gladrags’ – a song long embedded in the British songbook through iconic recordings by Chris Farlowe and Rod Stewart, and later reintroduced to a new generation by The Stereophonics, not forgetting its use as the theme to Ricky Gervais’s The Office.

Both tracks are lifted from the forthcoming album The Journey…So Far, due June 26th – an assured collection that reaffirms Mike D’Abo’s status as a distinctive and enduring voice in British songwriting.

Best known as the former frontman of Manfred Mann and writer of pop classics such as ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ – revisited on his forthcoming album with a fresh interpretation – Mike D’Abo continues to bridge eras with ease, honouring his legacy while pushing his craft forward.
