Message from Mike d’Abo – August 2007

Here’s some amazing news for you. I’ve just become a father again! My lovely wife, Lisa, gave birth to twins – a boy and a girl, Louis and Ella – in July. So I thought this was an ideal opportunity to share the good news and welcome you to the website.

Since technology and computer literacy have never been my strong points, I was grateful when my Dutch friend, Herman Hamerpagt and his family, offered to get a website up and running for me. He’s shown a great interest in my musical career since the 60s, and has a very comprehensive record collection to prove it. In fact, he’s got practically every cover version of my songs ever recorded!

So, whether you want to trace me back to my early days with A Band Of Angels, or check out what I’ve been up to more recently, the information is here. In case you’re interested, I’m still writing, recording and performing . . . and have every intention of continuing to do so for years to come. I’ve still got my band, Mike d’Abo & His Mighty Quintet – and we’re still in great demand for parties and special occasions. And, of course, I’m still performing with The Manfreds – alongside original members, Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness and Mike Hugg. I hope you’ll get the chance to catch up with us at a venue near you one day. If so, be sure to come and say hello. I’m always happy to chat, whether it’s about the 60s or my future musical plans.
